RPSEA Select SRP May 2010

RPSEA AffilliateSRP has recently been selected by the Research Partnership to Secure Energy for America (RPSEA) to execute a development contract qualify the Shrink-Fit technology for high fatigue applications.

SRP Delivers DW Joints for West Africa March 2010

SRP Wear Joint DeliveryIn the second quarter of 2009 SRP was contracted to provide a suite of intervention riser equipment including integrally forged riser components.  The joints designed by sister company, 2H Offshore, included 2 off Lower Stress Joints and 2 off Case Wear Joint Assemblies for a containment pressure of approximately 2,000psi system in 800m water depth. 

SRP Wins DOT Best Paper Award February 2010

SRP’s technical paper entitled, “Why Shrink Steel Flanges to Titanium Pipe?” won the best paper award at Deep Offshore Technology Conference in Houston.

Bearing Development Update January 2010

After testing a number of marine bearings in representative loading and environmental conditions SRP have passed 5,000,000 cycles of wear with a bearing being named Slide-Max.  This proprietary bearing is the result of considerable effort and development work both in house and by component suppliers. 

SRP success in the North Sea November 2009

After a contract Award in 2008 to Subsea Riser Products and Claxton Engineering Services, sister companies within the Acteon Group, SRP was contracted to execute system design, component design and riser manufacture of a full bore 5000psi drilling riser system for a North Sea operator. This system was successfully delivered in 2009 and drilling operations commenced in Q1 2010, serviced by Claxton Engineering.

The First Shrink-Fit Riser Flanges August 2009

Subsea Riser Products (SRP), an Acteon company, has successfully attached the first flanges to pipe sections that will make up a unique ultra-high-pressure drilling riser for use by Venture Production in the North Sea. The flanges were joined to the pipes at SRP’s premises in Sheffield, UK, using a novel shrink-fit process that the company developed specifically with the fabrication of risers like this one in mind.
