SRP offer a complete EPC supply route for a wide range of specialist riser joints, from design through to FAT and SIT of the joints. SRP provide riser joints to client supplied designs or take responsibility for the complete design, including subcontracting any global riser analysis required to our sister company, 2H Offshore. SRP has a detailed understanding of the application and integration of the product within the larger riser scope, ensuring the project interfaces are suitably accommodated and that all installation and operational constraints and requirements are considered.

Often such riser joints are used in highly loaded regions of the riser, necessitating high quality welding or integrally forged riser joints to suit the service conditions. SRP personnel have particular experience in the forging, machining and welding of long tubulars, achieving the necessary mechanical properties through section and meeting industry design standards for mechanical testing, weld qualification and non destructive testing.

SRP are able to provide a full range of riser joint sizes and designs from smaller completion riser joints through to large diameter, thick walled drilling riser joints manufactured from steel, titanium or composite material.

SRP have a clear and thorough understanding of the manufacturing stages with necessary experience required to avoid the many issues that can occur during the forging, machining, welding, testing and coating of the joints. This quality assurance is provided through the stringent evaluation of our suppliers, regular quality inspection at every stage, and our willingness to work with 3rd party independent verification bodies.

Technical Advantages

SRP can provide a number of technical advantages during STRESS-JOINT supply, which include:

  • Thorough understanding of ISO, NORSOK, NACE, DNV and API standards.
  • Excellent working relationships with international forgemasters and machinists.
  • Appropriate levels of qualification and verification testing.
  • Ongoing inspection and liaison during the manufacturing phases.
  • Attention to details and delivery of all manufacturing records.

Commercial Advantages

SRP can provide a number of commercial advantages during STRESS-JOINT supply, which include:

  • Single point contact and responsibility for complete delivery of finished joint.
  • Experienced and extensive existing supply chain.
  • Orders for single or multiple joints catered for.

Options

SRP can now also offer taper joint solutions using the latest SHRINK-FIT™ construction method. This approach applies proprietary SRP technology to facilitate solutions that previously have been impractical and offer projects the benefit of simpler manufacturing, shorter schedules, lower costs and improved technical specification.

The process allows high-strength thick-wall pipe to be machined in a tapered profile before applying the end flanges or couplings. The process results in a weld-less, structurally efficient design with a fatigue performance equivalent to an integrally forged joint. In fact material properties are generally improved in the Shrink-fit solution by virtue of thinner ruling sections. To read more, please review the SHRINK-FIT Taper Joint Datasheet.

Applications

  • Tapered riser stress joints.
  • Cased wear joints.
  • Tension joints.
  • Adapters, crossovers and other specialist joints.
