SRP’s WEAR-JOINT is the component of choice for completion riser protection.
The SRP WEAR-JOINT is a riser joint wear sleeve that protects the completion riser in the critical drill floor area. The concentrated bending loads in this region and consequent high stresses and fatigue loads require a high integrity riser joint designed for this service. SRP offer the complete design and supply of these joints, either as stand alone items or as part of an overall completion riser design and supply package.
The Wear-Joint is a complete assembly including:
- Case Wear Joint adapter – single forging, with a selection of coupling options
- Case Wear Joint Casing - usually ¾” – 1” wall thickness line pipe (API Spec 5L Grade X52) with a weld-on flanged interface to the Case Wear Joint adaptor.
- Case Wear Joint Clamp Plates – Enable coupling of other wear casing to the adaptor
- Spacers – high density polyethylene to provide protection to the internal riser string.
- Internal riser joints, pup and client specified, custom designed or standard end connection – protected within the casing, made to the same specification as the riser.
SRP’s systems engineering understanding enables the delivery period to be trimmed by placing contracts for forgings early before final machining details have been determined. This process uses SRP’s in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and of material and fabrication limitations.
