Although marine bearings have been used subsea for many years their application in riser systems has had only limited testing. In developing riser components using a trunnion-bearing assembly SRP carried out extensive testing and development of subsea bearings over a period of years. The wealth of data built-up of both large and small oscillation in a seawater environment under design load has confirmed the original product designs as robust.
SRP’s bearing testing data is considered as “intellectual-property” and not ordinarily divulged. To see more about the work carried out see below.
